Funded Childcare

What is the childcare offer?

The childcare offer will provide eligible working parents with 30 hours of a combination of

early education and childcare for 3 and 4 year olds, for up to 48 weeks per year.

How do I apply?

You can apply for the offer, including your early education entitlement

place, through your local authority.

Contact your local Family Information Service for more information on 01792 517222 or apply

online at www.swansea.gov.uk/childcareoffer

Childcare Vouchers

We also accept nursery vouchers. The scheme is supported by HM Revenue and Customs and

enables you to exchange up to £243 per month of your salary for childcare

vouchers. This portion of your salary is then exempt from tax and national

insurance contributions.

We accept vouchers from a number of providers but your employer must

register with a Nursery Voucher Scheme for you to qualify.

Visit www.childcarevouchers.co.uk for more information.

Tax-free Childcare

Did you know that you may be able to get up to £500 every 3 months (£2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare?

If you get Tax-Free Childcare, the government will pay £2 for every £8 you pay your childcare provider via an online account.
